Progress Report

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our many sponsors, supporters and friends we have managed to raise 47.7% of the amount needed to fund the trip. This is excellent progress and we want to thank everyone who has contributed to this in so many different ways - we greatly appreciate it.

Teddies Auction...

A supporter of the school recently donated a number of collectors teddy bears to see if we could sell them to raise funds. As McTear's the auctioneers had come to Greenock Town hall today to give valuations, we decided to take them down and see if we could make a fortune for the charity...

Alas, we weren't sitting on a hidden treasure... however, it was an interesting experience! We will still try to auction them but next time on ebay!

Sale Success!

A big thank you to everyone who helped with the nearly new sale on Saturday supporting our Rwanda expedition. We raised just over £1500 which we were delighted with.

A big thank you also to all the pupils who helped to make this such a success.

Sale Preparations

We are holding our first fund raising event for our upcoming Rwanda trip tomorrow. It is a Nearly New Sale, coffee shop and bake sale and is open from 10 am - 2 pm in the school. Everyone is welcome, entry is £1.

Staff and pupils worked very hard this afternoon to set everything up for the sale - they did a great job and it all looks fantastic!

Middle school did a great job sorting everything out:

Then it was time to set out the stalls:

The finished result:

Test your skills....

There will a number of opportunities to test your estimation skills at our Nearly New sale tomorrow:

Estimate the number of grains of rice in a jar to win a massage, facial and nail treatment at One Union Hairspa.

Estimate the number of sweets in the tub to win them the whole tub!

Estimate the weight of the cake to win it.

Estimate the weight of the suitcases to win a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses.

P4/5 were helping me to work out how many sweets were in the tub altogether:

Don't worry, none of them know the final total....

Baking for the Sale!

Pupils from P4 - S6 were exercising their culinary skills today - they were decorating biscuits and making top hats to sell at our Nearly New sale tomorrow. The sale is the raise funds for our Rwanda expedition and is from 10 am - 2 pm in the school. All are welcome to attend.

Here are some pictures of the happy bakers!

Nearly New Sale

Preparations for the first of our Rwanda fundraisers were well under way today. Despite the snow pupils managed to collect a huge number of donations from our collection points - thank you very much to everyone who has so generously donated:

Friend and supporter of the school, Susie Sharkey, was in her element sorting and organising all the donations. She did a fantastic job and we are all really looking forward to the sale on Saturday!

As well as the nearly new items on sale there will be the opportunity to buy a hot dog for lunch or cake and tea / coffee. There will also be a baking stall and the chance to exercise your estimation skills in order to win a range of prizes!

All are welcome to pop in to the school for the event which runs from 10 am - 2 pm. Entry is £1.
